We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Psychiatrist for a great opportunity in the Greater Asheville,NC area. The ideal candidate will possess 1 year of current experience working in a clinical setting and have 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health environment.

Responsibilities of the Psychiatrist
  • Evaluate and treat patients within the scope of training, capabilities, and license criteria as a health care provider.
  • Provide evaluation, psychoeducation, and medication management through a collaborative approach with other members of the care team and family members when appropriate and at any location identified in the WeCare2, MCHP, scope of practice.
  • Monitor metabolic problems related to anti-psychotic medications and chronic mental illness routinely.
  • Provide treatment planning and/or written approval of treatment plans as appropriate in those cases where third-party payers require a physician’s approval.
Requirements of Psychiatrist
  • 1 year of experience working within a psychiatry or behavioral health clinical environment is required.
  • M.D. is required
  • Board certification in Psychiatry is required
  • DEA certification is required upon hire.
  • Knowledge of First Episode Psychosis patient presentations, appropriate diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning.
