Summary:

This position is responsible for promoting and selling company products, increasing brand awareness, and soliciting orders from Key accounts in North America under the supervision of the National Account Manager. The main focus of this position is developing relationships with Grocery stores in mainstream markets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent from a four-year college or university
  • + 3 years of experience in the CPG industry.
  • Relationship experience with retailers, brokers, and distributors.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategies to maintain and/or expand sales to achieve corporate goals.
  • Prepares a plan for each account to identify and meet short and long-term needs.
  • Forecasts the demand for product(s) within the North American market.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels through the North American market to visit brokers, distributors and retail establishments to promote the sale of company products.
  • Makes initial contacts with key personnel of targeted customers and builds a strong business rapport.
  • Interfaces with customers to understand the customers’ overall objectives and requirements.
  • Contacts customers on a regular basis to maintain account relationships, advise customers of new product and service offerings, and obtains feedback on products.
  • Shares details with customers on additional offerings to provide value added service.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for issues or activities that the customer encounters related to product sales.
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints.
  • Conducts pre-contract liaisons with customers and negotiates contract terms and conditions.
  • Prepares quotations and credit terms for new customers in accordance with company policy.
  • Prepares and reviews sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Displays, demonstrates, presents and/or distributes samples, emphasizing salable features of the products and introducing new products at customers’ sites.
  • Participates in trade shows by representing the organization and sharing information on products.
  • Provides feedback to marketing and product development teams for future product enhancements.
  • Researches market conditions and conducts feasibility studies to determine market demand for the company’s existing and new products.
  • Works with brokers and distributors to share market and customer information and to develop good business rapport.
  • Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel.
  • Ensures collection of all A/R and follows up with the customers when payment is late.
