Principal Network Engineer for Maxwell Gunter

SSi is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to provide technical infrastructure support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex. This is a full-time position during 1^st shift (7-4 or 8-5)

Responsibilities

• Analyze and simulate network traffic to aide in problem resolution or to test updated configurations in virtual or physical lab environments.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot the most complex enterprise network solutions and/or issues.
• Develop, execute, modify or remove scripts to assist in automation of tasks.
• Review and document all workload activities per incident or change request to eliminate re‐work or for auditing/investigation purposes.

Qualifications

10+ years experience in network engineering and administration. HS diploma or GED. Must be Security+ and CCNP certified.

• Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and hardening routers, serial consoles, load balancers, and switches.
• Extensive experience with enterprise level network architectures and configurations.
• Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) is desired.
• Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution.
• Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
• Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner.
• Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
