Primary Purpose of Position
To operate equipment and assemble components, in all areas of secondary operation.
Major Responsibilities of Position
• Safety: safety checks as per schedule. Assist with Performing PM checks and repairs (robot crashes, tool defects, replace broken drills, etc.) or inform maintenance when required.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe environment. Removing machine turnings, stacking finished goods, garbage removal. Clean-up work areas, wash station down, clean screens and empty trays.
• General Machining: Operation of secondary equipment. Assembling, sorting, and packing of parts. Part inspection, removing any loose flash and burrs. Carry out any required tooling changes – set-up new drills and replace old drills. Gauging castings. Place audit tags on baskets.
• Record keeping: Count scrap and fill out daily scrap sheets.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in 5S+1 activity including training, kaizens and projects.
• Other duties as required, including special projects as they arise.

Educational and Certification Background
1 Grade 12 diploma or equivalent Essential
2 Experience in labour roles in a safety-oriented environment or similar work experience. Essential
Personal Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes):
• Must have demonstrated mechanical ability and know the use of hand tools.
• Knowledge of machining operations (drilling, reaming, tapping, tools, etc).
• Must be flexible enough to work in any of the areas of responsibility, be able to work rotating shifts and necessary overtime, and be a team-oriented problem solver.
• Must be able to participate in problem solving challenges.
• Basic knowledge of key quality areas of all castings and/or machined parts and their respective QA inspection
• Knowledge of company policies & procedures.
• Be familiar with the OH&S Act and Regulations
• Team work.
