The Wireless Technician will be responsible for repairing, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading RFID and Barcode systems, software, personal computer networks, and related peripheral equipment. The technician assesses user training needs and trains users in effective use of standard applications; makes recommendations regarding hardware and software use; prepares documentation and provides user assistance to customers; and performs related work as required.

  

You Will… 

 

·         Perform site surveys using industry standard software to design wireless systems within the customer’s environment.

·         Deploy, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade RFID and Barcode systems and software.

·         Stage and configure mobile computers, wireless network infrastructure and data collection equipment such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pull cables and rewire or direct the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and reconfigurations.

·         Review and determine the extent of service and exercise considerable judgment in continuing with the service or forwarding extensive requests to supervisor or suppliers.

·         Handle all necessary documentation and data entry required.

·         Provide prompt and effective problem solving and troubleshooting to customers through telephone and email contact when system failures or dysfunctions occur.

·         Assess needs and train users in effective use of equipment.

·         Make recommendations to staff regarding hardware and software acquisitions.

·         Keep up to date on new equipment and software training.

·         Maintain and develop relationships with customers to ensure proper support.

·         Maintain and develop relationships with salespeople to aid and support them with their customer needs.

  • Maintain and develop relationships with OEM SE and technical staff.
  • Work with fellow technicians to cross train on knowledge of various types of equipment.
  • Work with the programming team to understand the integration of our software with hardware.
  • Responsible for inventory room management with inventory controller.
  • Manage safety and environmental compliance activities.

 

You Have…

 

  • College diploma, preferably in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience with general computer installation, maintenance and repair.
  • 2+ years experience with wireless troubleshooting.
  • CWNA or CCNA Wireless Certification is a minimum (CWSP or CWDP are preferred).
  • Fall Arrest Training and Lift Certification preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products is required and experience with a CRM is preferred.
  • Solid communication skills including excellent writing skills.
  • Organized and able to work under pressure.
  • Great team player.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
