Wills & Estates Associate – Ottawa
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Ottawa law firm that is looking to grow its Wills & Estates team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer who wants to work on sophisticated estate planning and administration matters in a supportive, collegial environment.
The Role:
The successful candidate will advise individuals, families, and business clients on a wide range of estate matters including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate, and estate administration. This position also offers the chance to collaborate across practice areas such as corporate, tax, and real estate, providing clients with comprehensive and integrated legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Advise clients, executors, trustees, and beneficiaries on estate planning and administration.

Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate documents.

Manage estate administration, including probate proceedings, asset distribution, and dispute resolution.

Represent clients in estate-related legal proceedings where required.
Qualifications:

Called to the Ontario Bar and in good standing.

3–7 years of experience practicing in Wills & Estates law.

Strong drafting, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.

Empathetic, client-centered approach with excellent communication abilities.

Exposure to corporate, tax, or estate litigation work considered an asset.

STEP designation (or working towards it) would be an advantage.

Competitive salary in the range of $125,000 – $180,000, depending on experience.
