JOB DESCRIPTION
Web Design (System Administrator - Database Administrator)
Location: Oahu, HI
System/Database Administrator to join our rapidly growing team.
Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) Must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:
- Perform user account maintenance
- Apply Network Management Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) architecture overview
- Monitor MUOS overall status, respond to Fault Configuration Accounting Performance (FCAP) alerts and events, maintains system status database
- Maintain current version of operational software, databases, password administration, firewalls, and anti-virus/anti-spam applications/software on all assigned computer command, control, and monitoring equipment
- Implement software and firmware patches, software upgrades, configuration changes, arrange for technical support for hardware repairs, and provide database for life cycle replacement
- Perform preventive maintenance on IT systems and related equipment
- Perform communication systems operational and diagnostic testing
- Set up and configure IT networks and maintain system documentation
- Assist with troubleshooting and administration of existing network systems; troubleshoot basic network problems
- Perform routine tests of assigned system and report on results; monitor the network and report system failures
- Maintain databases for communication systems information and network Internet Protocols (IPs)
- Support external entities
- Review, test, and apply Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) patches to all information systems
- Review and update security, software, user, and system profiles for all information systems
- Perform information system hardware and software maintenance
- Perform user and administrator account maintenance
- Initiate, update, track, and complete work orders for information systems
- Coordinate with external entities for troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of information systems
- Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility

- Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree
- Equivalent combination of knowledge and specialized experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree
- Satisfy CSWF 8140.01 Code 45 requirements
- Must complete EKMS 301 PQS within 30 days of start, if not already qualifiedAbility to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
- 7 or more years of experience in network and information systems technology with experience in Windows, SQL, DB2, Solaris, and Linux
- Knowledge of OPNAVINST 5530.14C and NISPOM (DoD 5220.22-M)
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), SharePoint client and MS Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 and 2010, ASP.NET, JAVA, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Extensible Markup Language (XML)/Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL), and C#
- Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision
- Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature
- Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
