Water Treatment Operator (Drinking Water)

Webuild (www.webuildstaffing.com) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drinking Water Operations Specialist to oversee the operational management of drinking water systems throughout the state of Kansas.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of hands-on experience, independently operating municipal or private water facilities, with expertise in sample collection, data analysis, report preparation, and adjusting chemical levels. Proficiency in SCADA management, process piping, and electrical infrastructure (480V three-phase systems) is essential, along with the ability to perform repairs and preventative maintenance to distribution system equipment is required.

This position offers a unique opportunity for a driven professional to collaborate closely with Executive Plant Management within cutting-edge water distribution facilities in Kansas. Responsible for operating and monitoring water production, pumping, and distribution systems via SCADA and GIS systems, managing water flows and pressures, and adjusting pump operations based on water storage needs. The Specialist will also collect water samples, perform chemical testing, and make necessary adjustments to chemical feed equipment to ensure water quality. Additional duties include troubleshooting treatment issues, forecasting daily water needs, and maintaining water treatment equipment.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science or related discipline. High School graduates with qualifying hands-on experience will be considered. Candidates must possess a Kansas State Water Systems Supply Grade III or IV Certification, or hold other State certifications that can be readily transferred to the State of Kansas for reciprocal certification.
