Water Resources Project Manager (Combined Sewer Systems)

Mead & Hunt is looking for a water resources engineer to serve as a project manager on combined sewer system and wastewater collection system projects. In this role, the engineer will work with both clients and staff to provide technical support as well as prepare project scopes, budgets, and project management plans. This position has a high potential for future promotion opportunities within Mead & Hunt’s growing One Water team. Individuals either from a collection system design or collection system modeling background will excel in this role.
Mead & Hunt’s One Water group is an indispensable resource for clients who must balance the myriad competing needs of sustainably managing water. The One Water Group has an extensive backlog serving a broad variety of clients ranging from municipal to industrial and aviation. The Civil/Hydrodynamics Department, within One Water, routinely handles such projects as stormwater, wastewater, and combined sewer regional modeling and planning, conveyance design, sewer overflow reduction, and green infrastructure programs for its clients. This department currently manages the City of Peoria’s combined sewer system and is responsible for overseeing their multi-decade program to strategically install green infrastructure and gray infrastructure to reduce combined sewer overflows. Similar efforts for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District work to lessen sewer overflows by increasing sewer capacity and maximizing flow to the deep tunnel system. This work often includes design of complex diversion structures and large diameter sewers with significant utility relocation. The team’s superior technical skill, can-do spirit, and supportive atmosphere provide an ideal environment for the right engineer to truly flourish in their professional life.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $200,000 /year – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set and location.

Requirements:
• BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 8+ years of experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Combined sewer system, CSO reduction, wastewater conveyance or stormwater conveyance experience
• Prior project management experience is preferred but not required as candidates who wish to get into project management will also be considered.
• Prior people management experience, or the desire to grow into a people management role, is preferred
• Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling experience using software such as PCSWMM, XPSWMM, or similar is preferred.
• Proficiency or experience using Civil 3D is preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Critical and insightful thinker
