Job Description

Bull City Talent Group has partnered with a consumer products organization to identify a Warehouse and Materials manager for a full-time, direct placement opportunity.

The Warehouse and Utilities Manager is responsible for directing the flow of goods in and outside of the plants to maximize efficiency, reduce costs and optimize customer service for all goods moving through the Laurel facility. This role is responsible for the warehousing team while also managing the packaging and ingredient needs for the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. • Coordinates and schedules movement of products from production through shipping of finished products. • Recommends approaches to increase efficiencies in the movement of goods. • Assists in the creation of specific goals and performance metrics to continuously improve efficiencies in the movement of goods • Manage the transfer of specific items to external storage locations and the transfer of those items for customer delivery. • Manage warehouse personnel and support with inventory management activities, including technological requirements. • Tracks item locations and assists with correcting issues that may lead to inefficiencies • Manages flow of finished products and modifies storage space as needed • Directs production and shipping personnel to store and retrieve product • Organize, manage and direct the shipping function, while collaborating with the quality department to identify specific batches for picking to satisfy specific customer requirements • Identify items requiring special treatment in the plant and appropriately assign them to locations and picking • Create and manage order fulfillment for customers who do not handle order management independently • Maintain relationships with freight and logistics vendors and assist with centralized vendor management functions • Actively manages vendor transactions to ensure adherence to budget with respect to freight and logistics costs • Leads the procurement of packaging and ingredients for the facilities; issuing PO’s, establishing and managing inventory levels / reorder points and partnering with vendors as needed around performance issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related field or 5+ years working in an fast-paced, warehouse environment. At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.

• Operates forklift as needed.

• Good communication skills.

• Highly accurate data entry skills.

• Strong sense of urgency and desire to learn.

• Must be a team player, willing to jump in where needed to get the job done.

• Must have experience performing data entry in a modern ERP environment (Oracle, SAP) a good understanding of the Windows Operating Environment, Microsoft Office Environment, specifically Excel.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at times.
