The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.  Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. This worker will operate a forklift and have a Type 4 license.  Must have a government Secret clearance.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, and customers.

  • Manually loads and unloads inventory received and/or leaving the warehouse.

  • Unpacks, shelves and/or places items in proper storage locations.

  • Performs required inventories, storage and property disposal.

  • Maintains warehouse stock rotation, sanitation and other required duties.

  • Operates warehouse forklift and flatbed truck.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the office area including equipment maintenance, office supplies, inventory/ordering, and housekeeping of the facilities;

    • Coordinate office equipment maintenance, including copier, fax machine, etc.

    • Responsible for inventory of supplies, and purchasing.

  • Manage mail processes for shipping such as; Federal Express, UPS and ensure the shipping and receiving department has the information needed to successfully ship products.

  • Ability to operate an X-Ray machine.

  • Understanding ranks of military personnel.

  • Able to retrieve and input data into government provided software.

  • Participate in special projects.

  • Participate in required skills and knowledge training.

  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

    Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Valid state Driver’s License and be qualified to operate a forklift and have Type 4 license.

  • Must have an active Government Secret Clearance.
