Construction Manager Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage large or multiple construction projects, ensuring adherence to design, budget, and schedule, interfacing with clients, A/E representatives, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to support project success.
  • Oversee project setup, scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and change management processes.
  • Communicate proactively with project teams, facilitating meetings and resolving issues promptly.
  • Analyze contract documents (plans, specifications, geotechnical reports) and perform constructability reviews.
  • Supervise and mentor project personnel, fostering a high-performance team culture.
  • Manage financial reporting and budget adherence, initiating pay applications and ensuring timely payments.

A Successful Candidate Will Possess

  • Professional Engineer License (P.E.) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
  • 4+ years of experience in construction, design, and project management, preferably in Water/Wastewater, Transportation, or Utilities sectors.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, P6 or MS Project, and construction cost estimation.

Salary Range

$100,000 – $150,000
