Job Description

PMJOBS.US has been engaged for a search for a Senior Business Development Manager to open and close new business across North America.

Our client is an established provider of warehouse management software. Their platform runs complex, high-volume distribution and third-party logistics operations. It is configurable rather than plug-and-play, and it is bought on measurable operational results — throughput, accuracy, labor — not on a feature list.

The platform is recognized in the major analyst research covering warehouse management software — outside credibility you can put in front of a prospect without being the biggest name in the room.

They are well established in their market and deliberately small in North America. That is the opportunity. The U.S. team is lean, the territory is open, and the person in this seat will build a book rather than inherit one.

This is a new position, created to add closing power to the North American business.

What You Will Be Doing

You will own new-logo acquisition across the United States. You build the pipeline, you run the cycle, you close the deal.

Prospects are third-party logistics providers, contract logistics operators, distributors, and warehouse-heavy manufacturers. Discovery happens on site — in the building, watching the operation run, finding where throughput and labor are being lost, and putting a number on it.

You will sell to VPs of Supply Chain and Operations, distribution center directors, COOs, and IT leadership. At 3PLs you will often sell to the owner directly.

Deals include software, implementation, and services, and cycles run six to twelve months. Pre-sales and implementation resources support you. They do not carry the deal for you.

Annual quota is approximately $1.6M, with 4x to 6x pipeline coverage expected.

What You Need to Have

  • 5–10+ years selling B2B software solutions
  • Experience selling WMS, supply chain execution, TMS, OMS, warehouse automation, robotics, or closely adjacent logistics technology
  • A documented record of closing net-new logos — not managing an install base
  • Consistent quota attainment, year over year
  • The ability to build pipeline through your own outbound activity
  • Comfort selling operations, supply chain, and IT stakeholders inside the same deal
  • Credibility on a warehouse floor — you can run early discovery without an engineer beside you
  • Experience with longer, more complex, solution-oriented sales cycles
  • Willingness to travel 50–75%
  • The maturity to produce in a lean, remote, self-managed environment

Why This Role Stands Out

  • You own the full cycle — first call to signed contract
  • Uncapped commission, paid on gross profit across licenses, services and support, with accelerators above quota
  • A genuinely open territory in a market the company is committed to growing
  • Direct access to decision-makers — approvals take days, not quarters
  • An analyst-recognized platform, with room to build the North American story around it
  • Visible results. What you close matters, and everyone sees it

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently selling WMS, supply chain execution, or logistics software
  • Used to mid-market deals — operations in the 50,000 to 250,000 square-foot range, 1,000 to 10,000 orders a day, buyers in the $50M to $1B revenue band, first-year contract values of $150,000 to $500,000
  • Has won against larger, better-known competitors — and enjoyed it
  • Wants more ownership of their deals and less structure around them
  • Ready to stop being one of a hundred reps

Not a fit: account managers and farmers, reps who work inbound leads, and anyone who needs a large support structure to produce.

Bottom Line

This is a build role for a closer. If you generate your own pipeline, talk to operations people in their own language, and want your results to be visible, this is a territory worth owning.
