Voice Services Technician
Job Description
As a Voice Services Technician, you will be responsible for onboarding mobile subscribers, configuring SIM and eSIM profiles, and supporting both VoIP and fax/eFax services. You will assist with new tenant deployments on our hosted VoIP platform, configure SIP endpoint devices, and collaborate with provisioning teams to port numbers and activate services. This role also supports pre-sales engineering efforts, including solution design, product demonstrations, and documentation. Your contributions will help deliver an exceptional customer experience while maintaining the high reliability and quality standards of our voice services.

- Submit, track, document, and monitor submitted LSR/port orders to our Local Exchange Carriers (LECs/ ILECs), using various internal and external systems.
- Ensure Firm Order Confirmation (FOC) is received within regulated timeframes and assist in resolving order rejects within a timely manner.
- Create and Activate Nextlink Mobile services
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of VoIP and SIP protocols, including registration, invite flows, and SDP
- Ability to analyze packet captures using tools such as Wireshark
- Familiarity with networking technologies: VLANs, LLDP, QoS/CoS prioritization
- Experience configuring SIMs/eSIMs via carrier portals or device management platforms
- Comfort working with PBX systems (Hosted, SIP-Trunking, On-site)
- Experience with mobile network configuration and device activation
- Capable of conducting technical investigations using vendor docs and external resources
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-driven, team-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Valid Driver's license
- Previous experience in a similar role is a Plus
- Experience with all Microsoft Office tool (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Experience working within a CRM
- Experience working with Hosted Voice over IP, SIP-Trunks, and On-site PBX systems Preferred

Work Environment/Hazards:
- Working conditions primarily inside an office environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Physical Demands:
- Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
- To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. Daily movements include sitting, standing, operating computers and other office equipment and moving about the office. The employee must be able to communicate via email and verbally via telephone.
Working Hours/Days:
- Monday thru Friday
- 8AM – 5PM
- Full time
- Occasional weekends
- Overtime as needed
- On call rotation
Travel Requirements:
- 20% of travel required
