The VP of Marketing is responsible for driving profitable digital growth and brand equity for the company’s ecommerce business. This leader will own the full marketing strategy — from customer acquisition and lifecycle engagement to brand positioning and analytics — leveraging data-driven insights to deliver best-in-class online customer experiences and revenue acceleration.


Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Growth Leadership

  • Define the integrated marketing strategy aligned to ecommerce growth objectives and brand vision.

  • Lead demand generation and acquisition programs across performance channels (paid search, social, affiliate, marketplaces, display, SEO).

  • Oversee CRM/lifecycle programs to increase conversion, retention, loyalty, and repeat purchases.

Brand & Customer Experience

  • Strengthen brand identity and storytelling across digital channels, ensuring consistent experience and messaging.

  • Partner with UX and Merchandising teams to improve onsite journeys, personalization, and product discovery.

  • Drive content marketing — including landing pages, product pages, editorial, and video — to support conversions and higher AOV.

Data, Analytics & Optimization

  • Establish marketing performance dashboards, attribution, and KPI frameworks.

  • Implement rigorous test-and-learn methodologies to refine targeting, offers, and creative.

  • Work closely with product, analytics, and supply chain teams to optimize funnel performance and profitability.

Team & Vendor Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team including acquisition, CRM, creative/content, and brand.

  • Select and manage agencies, technology partners, and Martech stack to scale growth.

  • Foster a collaborative, agile, and customer-centric culture.

Financial Ownership

  • Own the marketing budget, forecast, and performance outcomes with strong unit economics.

  • Balance aggressive revenue growth with efficient spend and contribution margin goals.


Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of progressive digital marketing leadership, with deep ecommerce experience.

  • Proven track record scaling DTC or omnichannel ecommerce businesses through data-driven strategies.

  • Expertise in performance marketing, CRM, web analytics, conversion optimization, and attribution.

  • Strong understanding of ecommerce technologies: marketing automation, CDP/CRM, analytics platforms, SEO tools, etc.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional influence abilities.
