Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a global, independent freight forwarder and logistics provider with 7 branch offices and an extensive network of 75 partners throughout 28 countries around the world.
The Vice President will direct the overall sales, operations, and administration of the 5 branch offices in the USA including a staff of 20 employees and a P&L of $12M including a 25,000 sq./ft. warehousing facility. Primary responsibility is to assist the President with support and leadership to effectively scale and grow the organization while ensuring financial strength and operational efficiency. The successful individual will develop a strategy to drive revenues, optimize costs, maximize profitability to include sales, team management (hiring, training, developing), SOP’s establishment and oversight, and monthly reports. Adheres to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and acting when necessary.

Background Required:
  • Working for an International Freight Forwarder (10 years)
  • Branch and team management (3 years)
  • Track record of sales success with client ownership and transfer possibility
  • P & L management including budgeting, forecasting & reporting
  • Scaled and grew an organization or major division
  • Multimodal (Ocean, Air, Import, Export & Domestic Transportation)
  • Established standard operating procedures & metrics
  • Business plan preparation and implementation
  • Negotiation and problem solving
  • Trade lanes: Latin America, Trans Pacific and Europe
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM and industry software
  • Location: Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, New Jersey, Charlotte or Asheville (HQ)

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or MBA
  • Heavy Lift, oversize, and chartering (air & ocean)
