Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a leading asset-based supply chain and logistics provider specializing in domestic & international freight, truckload brokerage, warehousing, distribution & fulfillment, project & on-site management.
The Vice President of Transportation will be tasked with consultative transportation management of accounts, leveraging the organizations operational and technological strengths to provide value beyond price to clients. Will design, implement, and scale an organizational structure including key account management, carrier sales, and operations, to maximize efficiency and meet organizational strategy. Will be responsible for maintaining and building carrier relationships, while also managing and implementing operational strategies. Will develop multi-year strategic relationships with carrier partners. Will develop pricing strategies that consider industry trends and data sources into account in order to give company best opportunity to win profitable business. Will open revenue and operational growth opportunities with existing customers. Will develop multi-year strategy for operations. Challenge is to successfully grow new and existing customer accounts by providing superior service and ensuring best practices are being utilized by all team members, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
- Progressive senior level experience within Freight Brokerage (8 + years)
- Modes of transportation (i.e. Truckload, LTL, intermodal, Specialized)
- Strategic Account Management
- Carrier Sales Management & Carrier Procurement KPI Management
- Management – hire, train, staff, coach mentor
- Establish and manage Carrier Portal ensuring repeat capacity
- Strong Negotiation Ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity)
- Margin Integrity
- Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
- Residence: Minneapolis, MN
- Education: College Graduate - BA or BS
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- High energy with a sense of urgency
