Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the COO for a leading logistics provider serving the evolving needs of businesses in today’s same-day delivery world. Our client manages daily routed and on-demand delivery services across the country, with a dedicated team of professionals handling jobs of all shapes, sizes, timeframes, and locations. Through deep expertise in the automotive, ecommerce and medical industries, they drive visibility, flexibility, and predictability for their clients across the delivery spectrum from first call to the final mile and everywhere in between.
The Vice President of Terminal Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all Terminal Operations’ activities within the organization. Ensure the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the current, future, and changing needs of the organization. Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the entire division. Champion transformation of the terminal operation to ensure the company is ready for future success. Drive a passion for service, collaboration, accountability, adaptability, responsiveness, and respect throughout their division. Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline the organization. Work with IT Department on technologies and systems to improve network operations. Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, facility utilization, and services are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision. Establish, implement, and communicate operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution. Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects. Recruit, interview, hire, and train director-level staff in the department, in coordination with the Human Resources Department. Oversee the daily workflow of the department. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems. Align with other divisions and departments to carry out organizational goals and objectives. Establish, adhere to, and administer the budget. Present periodic performance reports and metrics to the Chief Operations Officer and other members of the Leadership Team. Maintain knowledge of emerging trends in logistics and freight network operations management. Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided to all network operations staff.
