Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a premier, non-asset logistics provider that is experiencing rapid growth while staying committed to an excellent customer experience.
The Vice President, Sales is responsible for the development and implementation of an aggressive commercial growth strategy of non-asset brokerage business, delivering on a customer first sales philosophy, nurturing customer and carrier relationships, and ensuring continued growth of current accounts. Will work in coordination with other company business units, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the unit, establish management processes and metrics for performance, and be accountable for financial and growth performance of the commercial business development business unit. Will supervise process improvement internally and in the company’s arrangements with its customers and channel marketing partners. Will complete necessary planning activities for both short term and long-term goals of the business including budgetary planning, analysis, and review. Will lead and manage an 80 person inside customer sales team housed two locations: Indianapolis, IN and Charlotte, NC. Responsible for training, coaching mentoring within a collaborative environment. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offering, motivate, and lead staff while optimizing costs, increasing revenues, and maximizing profitability.

Background Required:
  • Progressive sales leadership within a non-asset transportation environment (10+ years)
  • Leadership (Interview, Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor) (5+ years)
  • Large team experience
  • Experience in rapid growth environment
  • National Account Management (QBR’s, Strategic Marketing/Account Penetration)
  • Mode of transportation (i.e. TL, LTL, intermodal, specialized)
  • Project management skills with ability to set aggressive goals and drive a team to meet those goals
  • Developed and execute business plan strategies
  • P & L Management
  • Driven technology and process improvement (i.e. Brokerage TMS Suite or equal)
  • Developed & managed KPI’s (i.e. on-time performance, margin, data integrity, lane balances)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Residence: Indianapolis, IN (Relocation assistance provided)
