Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO of a non-asset logistics provider that is experiencing rapid growth while staying committed to an excellent customer experience.
The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for the continued progressive, profitable growth of the multi-modal, non-asset freight brokerage business by developing and implementing a commercial strategy and building out a sales team. Accountable for leading the organizations outside and inside business development team through the development and implementation of the sales strategy. Responsible for driving new business development and organic revenue growth. The Vice President would work alongside the management team in developing and supporting the successful execution of the company’s short-term and long-term strategies. Will coordinate complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Will coach, train, and mentor sales team in addition to opportunistic personal prospecting to achieve target revenue goals. The challenge is to support the team, expand account base, increase revenues, and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Progressive commercial leadership experience within freight brokerage (8+ years)
  • Sales management (6+ years)
  • Sales performance metrics (KPIs, Client Development)
  • Commercial Responsibility (New business, Contract negotiation, Account Management, C-level Interface)
  • Service offerings (i.e. Freight Brokerage, warehousing)
  • Track record of driving profitable growth with P&L responsibility
  • Experience in establishing organizational infrastructure
  • Thorough understanding of brokerage industry processes and best practices
  • Business planning (annual sales plans, budgeting, financing, forecasting)
  • Knowledgeable within Supply Chain Technology (i.e. TMS) and ability to increase utilization to drive efficiencies
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: Ft. Worth, TX

  • Graduate degree: (i.e. Master’s, MBA)
