- Strategic Purchasing & Vendor Management: Develop & execute a comprehensive purchasing strategy for Specialty Pharmacy. Establish and monitor KPIs incl cost savings, vendor performance, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover.
- Contract Negotiation & Supplier Relations: Lead negotiations to secure favorable contracts, pricing agreements, and service levels with key suppliers and vendors. Foster strategic supplier relationships to drive competitive advantage & innovation.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization: Oversee inventory management to balance optimal stock levels with minimal waste. Implement risk mitigation measures & strategies to enhance supply chain resilience against market volatility.
- Market Analysis, Strategic Sourcing & Process Improvement: Monitor market trends, supply risks, and regulatory changes to proactively adjust purchasing strategies. Drive strategic sourcing incl pharma, direct purchasing, LDDs, infusion, 340B, hubs etc. to optimize cost and reliability. Apply continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to streamline procurement processes.
- Performance Management & Digital Procurement: Define, track, and report on procurement KPIs to guide data-driven decision-making. Leverage advanced procurement systems and real-time analytics to refine sourcing strategies and improve operational outcomes.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain, or equivalent) preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within specialty pharmacy or healthcare.
- Proven success in negotiating contracts with pharma, pricing, manufacturer discounts / rebates, and managing large-scale procurement operations.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, cost analysis, and performance measurement.
- Solid understanding of supply chain dynamics, inventory management, and regulatory compliance in healthcare.
- Expertise in advanced procurement strategies, digital sourcing, and vendor mgmt.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and inventory analytics.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strategic thinker with an execution-oriented mindset and a track record of driving process improvements.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments while maintaining operational excellence.
