Position Overview:
Our client, a leading consumer lending company, is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Operations to lead and drive successful operations within their region. The VP will be responsible for achieving sales and profit objectives by executing the overall company mission and strategy and establishing a regional strategy tailored to the unique needs of various Districts. This role involves close collaboration with District Supervisors to develop and implement plans that address regional opportunities and challenges, with a focus on continuous improvement and inspiring excellence across the team. Experience in consumer lending, particularly installment lending, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Profit Achievement: Meet or exceed sales and profit goals by effectively translating corporate strategy into actionable plans across the region. Ensure that every employee understands their role in driving sales and contributing to the company’s success.
- Localized Strategy Development: Create a localized strategy that addresses the specific needs of each District while remaining consistent with the overall company strategy and brand identity.
- Priority Setting & Communication: Establish and communicate key priorities across the region to ensure alignment with the company’s broader goals.
- Performance Improvement: Identify and remove barriers to store sales performance. Proactively seek opportunities for future sales and service improvements and develop initiatives to capitalize on these opportunities.
- Leadership & Accountability: Hold District Supervisors accountable for achieving objectives, providing them with the understanding and inspiration needed to drive results independently.
- Inspire Excellence: Motivate and inspire regional staff to consistently deliver results that meet or exceed plan expectations.
- Goal Setting & Accountability: Set clear, measurable goals for each District, monitor performance, and hold leaders accountable for achieving those goals.
- Financial Oversight: Review financial statements, sales and operating reports, and other performance data to assess productivity, goal achievement, and identify areas for cost reduction or program improvement.
- Talent Management: Attract, develop, and retain a talented and diverse workforce to drive sales and profitability within the region. Constantly challenge and develop District Supervisors and other leaders.
- Resource Leveraging: Effectively utilize corporate, regional, District, and store resources to set and execute strategies, drive sales, and increase profitability.
Required Experience:
- Regional Management: Minimum of 10 years of regional management experience in multi-unit retail, with at least 5 years in consumer lending, preferably in installment lending.
- Organizational & Management Skills: Strong organizational and management skills with a proven ability to drive results.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with strong computer and clerical skills.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the consumer lending industry and practices, with a commitment to staying current on industry trends through publications, affiliations, and trade conferences.
- Business Acumen: Broad business perspective with expert-level business acumen.
- Analytical Skills: Experience in analyzing and utilizing customer, market, and competitor analytics to inform strategy.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive, cooperative relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel as required by the demands of the position.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
