Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the executive for a national transportation provider.

The Vice President of Maintenance is responsible for regular scheduled for all tractors and trailers. Directs the breakdown department dealing with equipment experiencing issues on the road. Makes decisions regarding spend and approval for payment and operating budget. Maintains trailer cost-per-mile (CPM) at or better than industry standards. Maintains company computer system (TMT), including entering work orders, inventory, and trailer information. Provides leadership to build and maintain strong teams through effective communications and development measures. Provides continuous improvements in productivity, quality, and the efficiency of all maintenance operations. Consults with executive staff on operation and servicing divisions on equipment replacement needs. Contracts for repair services not performed in company shop. Contracts and negotiates pricing with third party vendors for all parts and supplies. Monitor’s usage, pricing, and credits for inventory at all locations. Manages DOT compliance and CSA maintenance BASIC to acceptable company standards. Sell-dispose of tractors and trailers retired form fleet due to age and-or condition. Sell other equipment as identified by executive management. Travel 25%.

  • Personnel Management (15 associates)
  • Financial acumen related to maintenance spend
  • Develop maintenance practices & procedures (SOP’s)
  • Improved cost-per-mile (CPM)
  • Inventory management: Parts management, procurement & warranty
  • Vendor relations and negotiations (onsite & on-the-road)
  • Equipment breakdown process
  • Location: Minneapolis, MN (relocation assistance)
