Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of a billion-dollar provider of integrated logistics solutions in business for over 70 years.

The Vice President of Freight Brokerage is responsible for the continued progressive, profitable growth of the multi-modal, freight brokerage business. Major emphasis on developing and executing an aggressive commercial growth plan while maintaining strong financial performance. The role has direct accountability for sales, customer onboarding, rate negotiations, operational execution of shipments and overall performance management of brokerage team and business. Will lead a team of account managers that are responsible for a portfolio of diverse customer accounts with a focus on promoting growth, achieving margin objectives and key performance indicators. Will support the development of new business relative to rate analysis, creative solutions design, pricing other commercial terms. Will create effective sales strategies for customers inclusive of profitability analyses, equipment and mode considerations and market capacity intelligence. Additionally, the Vice President is expected to develop and execute strategies that drive growth, increase profitability and improve processes while providing leadership support to the organization. Responsible for developing and implementing a commercial strategy and building a sales team. Responsible for P & L, establishing metrics, formulating and administering divisional policies, business plan development, and operational execution. In addition, review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and technology enhancements. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead staff, while increasing revenues and improving profitability.

Background Required:
  • Progressive leadership experience within freight brokerage (10+ years)
  • Experience driving and managing rapid growth within a freight brokerage organization.
  • Track record of driving profitable growth with P&L responsibility ($200MM+)
  • Track record in building scalable, repeatable processes and a data driven culture
  • Use of digital tools and machine learning
  • Track record of engaged leadership and building strong teams
  • Developed & managed KPI’s (i.e., on-time performance, margin, data integrity, lane balances)
  • Ability to close and manage large account business and drive organic growth of existing accounts.
  • Mode of Transportation (i.e., TL, LTL, intermodal, specialized)
  • Experience driving technology and process improvement.
  • Technology (MercuryGate, QLIK/Unify, Project44, Trucker Tools, Ambition, UltiPro) with continuous evaluation
  • Experience in establishing organizational infrastructure.
  • Business planning (annual organizational and sales plans, budgeting, financing, forecasting)
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Residence: TN (relocation package)
