Vice President of Finance (Confidential Search)
Work Environment: Hybrid with occasional travel as needed
Carolina PRG has partnered with a fast-growing national provider of turnkey infrastructure solutions that is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead and scale its finance operations. This executive role will oversee divisional controllers, billing, and financial operations while partnering closely with operational leaders and reporting directly to the CFO.
We are looking for a strategic, hands-on finance leader with deep experience in multi-entity operations, construction or project-based accounting, and a passion for building scalable systems and teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Finance department, including direct oversight of Divisional Controllers and Billing functions

Lead performance management, professional development, and organizational structure of the finance team

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly operating reports, financial scorecards, and variance analyses

Drive budgeting, forecasting, and gross margin planning across all business lines

Oversee and improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure compliance, consistency, and scalability

Ensure proper revenue recognition under US GAAP, with deep understanding of project-based accounting and percentage-of-completion methods

Provide business leaders with timely and actionable insights through reporting, financial modeling, and trend analysis

Monitor financial performance including A/R, DSO, and capital spending; support resolution of complex billing and revenue scenarios

Serve as a key financial advisor to senior leadership on business performance, growth opportunities, and financial impacts of operational decisions

Coordinate and support external audits and ensure regulatory compliance

Identify and implement continuous improvements in finance operations, reporting, and system integration

Experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure services highly preferred

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

CPA or MBA preferred but not required

10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role

Experience with revenue recognition, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting required
