Introduction
Out Client, a forward-thinking Foundation, is looking for a Vice President of Community Engagement, where you'll become an integral part of their Executive Leadership Team. In this role, you'll lead their efforts to understand community needs, spearhead impactful initiatives, and drive mission-focused grants while advocating for key priorities established by their Board of Directors. This position offers the opportunity to create meaningful change while working alongside dedicated professionals who value integrity, respect, teamwork, stewardship, and belonging.
Job Duties
- Serve as principal advisor to the President/CEO on all community engagement matters
- Lead the Community Engagement team to fulfill the Foundation's mission and strategic objectives
- Research, analyze, and curate insights on community needs for staff and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with community partners on initiatives and collect impact assessments
- Organize strategic stakeholder convenings and learning opportunities
- Develop and implement programs addressing identified community needs
- Prepare impact reports on strategic grants and programs
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on maximizing grant effectiveness
- Create workshops and resources for nonprofits
- Research and share insights on strategic philanthropy best practices
- Represent the Foundation at community events and within stakeholder groups
- Expand community outreach to advance the mission
Qualifications
- Five+ years’ experience in leadership providing operational and program expertise in a non-profit or related setting. Build trust at all professional levels, both internally as well as with all external stakeholders.
- Strong team leadership skills, demonstrating a servant leadership style. Demonstrates collaboration, respect, integrity, stewardship and belonging throughout all work interactions to effectively fulfil the mission and strategy of the foundation.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to lead, understand and curate ideas and initiatives to meeting the community’s needs. Leader who can serve as a key advisor to the President/CEO while taking the lead on community initiatives, mission focused grants and advocacy on pillars important to the foundation.
- Strong partner who will join in, lead, and collaborate with community partners on initiatives, collective efforts, and projects as the voice of the foundation. Share insights with foundation leadership, as well as provide advice and counsel on direction to achieve desired results.
- Knowledgeable on how to research, capture, and report data on impact pf grants and programs, develop workshops for the non-profit community for training purposes.
- Bachelor degree and/or seven years of equivalent experience in philanthropic services, development, non-profit, foundation, or similar environment.
