Position Responsibilities:
VP of Business Development reporting to the CEO of a multi-million-dollar third party logistics provider headquartered in Southern California. The organization is a leading end-to-end logistics company, providing comprehensive design, implementation and operational capabilities in contract logistics and transportation. Logistics services include, full-service warehousing and distribution, multichannel fulfillment, transportation, and intermodal drayage.
The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for the complete sales process including prospecting, lead generation, pricing and closing the business within their full service warehousing and distribution services. Responsible for drawing on unique competencies to demonstrate how the business can be beneficial to the customer. Ability to analyze, create presentations with experience working with customer service, and managing the startup process after the sale. Vice President of Business Development will spend the majority of their time calling on potential and existing customers in an effort to expand the current business base. Challenge is to increase revenues and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Warehousing/distribution, cross docking, value added service, omni-channel sales (7+ years)
  • Experience selling to organizations with multimodal needs within the US, Ex. Forwarding, Drayage, Transload, Bonded.
  • Experience with complex enterprise sales, identifying pain points, and delivering solutions
  • Experience driving revenue with large, national customers/shippers
  • Proven industry track record of winning new business and building strategic partnerships
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to overcome objections
  • Travel required - at least 50% travel, overnight included
  • Strong Negotiation Ability
  • Managed KPI’s (i.e. Customer Development, Profitability, Market Penetration)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft suite
  • Residence: California, Arizona, Texas
  • Education: Bachelors Degree

  • Education: Masters Degree
