Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a multi-million-dollar third party provider of global logistics. Services include transloading imported and domestic goods, asset-based dispatch and drayage, full-Service Warehousing and Distribution, ecommerce, and transportation services. Logistics services include, trucking, intermodal dock to dock services, freight consolidation and deconsolidation, and small package
The Vice President, Sales is responsible for outside sales with emphasis on building your own book of business through cold calling, face-to-face meetings, networking and closing new deals while a continuous engagement with your customers to maintain close relationships and ensure ongoing success with accounts. Will complete necessary planning activities for both short term and long-term goals of the business including budgetary planning, analysis, and review. Will build and manage a sales force to develop enterprise clients. Responsible for training, coaching mentoring within a collaborative environment. Candidate will conduct sales pitches and presentations with nationwide large and enterprise customer accounts with emphasis on developing and executing a business plan that will generate hyper revenue growth and exceed the sales quotas set by the company. Also responsible for Partnering with Customer Support and Operations teams to enhance the customer experience and keep customer satisfaction and retention rates high.

Background Required:
  • Outside sales and sales management within drayage-first mile haul, same day/next day, warehousing, middle mile transportation and P&D solutions (5+ years)
  • Sales Leadership (Interview, Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor)
  • Experience selling to organizations with multimodal needs within the US.
  • Experience with complex enterprise sales, identifying pain points, and delivering solutions
  • Experience driving revenue with large, national customers/shippers
  • Proven industry track record of winning new business and building strategic partnerships
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to overcome objections
  • Travel required - at least 50% travel, overnight included
  • Residence: Pacific Northwest/Greater Chicago area/Greater Los Angeles area
Background Preferred (but not required):

  • Advanced Degree –MBA
