Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to executive leadership for a regional transportation provider.

The Vice President, Operations is responsible for P&L, annual budget and the day-to-day operations of the truckload and logistics divisions. Includes fleet management, load planning, customer service. Management of 4 direct reports (Logistics, Customer Service, Planning, Fleet Management) with 44 associates, 392 company drivers & 100 owner operators. Coordinates operations with sales, safety, driver recruiting, information technology, finance & accounting. Participates in development of the overall strategic direction and annual business plan. Designs, implements and tracks process improvements. Focus is to continue to provide the operations leadership to continue to grow and sustain the organization as one of the best in the industry. Definition of best is (1) safest; (2) most profitable and (3) best place to work. Challenge is to maximize profitability through increasing utilization and optimizing costs.

Background Required:
  • Truckload operational management (5 years)
  • 300 truck fleet
  • P&L
  • Business plan and budgeting
  • Fleet management, customer service, extended coverage, load planning
  • On-board communication systems (i.e. Omnitracs, PeopleNet)
  • Dispatch and decision support software (i.e. TMW, McLeod, IDSC, KSM Pricing Tools, TripAlert)
  • Established standard operating procedures and metrics (KPI’s)
  • Driver retention strategies & committed to drivers
  • Residence: Oklahoma City, OK (relocation assistance)
