Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CFO a privately-owned 3PL.
Will be the strategic and tactical business partner providing support, counsel and advice on human resource strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Responsible for planning and directing all aspects of Human Resources policies, objectives and initiatives with staff to support organizational development, recruiting, training, on-boarding, compensation, benefits, employee development, employee relations, governmental & legal, risk management and HR information systems (HRIS). Maintains working knowledge on current Human Resources trends and best practices. Objective is to support fast organizational growth.

Background Required:
  • Progressive Sr. Human Resources functional role with large geography and labor force (7 yrs)
  • Coaches’ leadership team in areas of corrective counseling, performance management and employment practices and new company initiatives.
  • On-boarding, Training & Development of new employees
  • Benefits & Insurance Management and Policies, Legal, Workers Compensation
  • Labor Law compliance (EEOC, OSHA, FMLA)
  • HR Information Systems (HRIS) knowledgeable
  • Employee Recruitment Strategies i.e. (college/university/professional recruiting efforts, print/media)
  • PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification
  • Familiar with the Logistics, Supply Chain or Manufacturing with large labor workforce
  • Computer literate (Microsoft suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Travel: Up to 25%
  • Residence: Midwest USA (relocation assistance)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Union workforce knowledgeable,
  • Canadian workforce and labor law knowledgeable
  • Education: Advanced Degree
