The Vice President, Finance is responsible for driving financial performance, operational execution, and disciplined financial management across the organization. Reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, this role is a hands-on finance leader who translates strategy into day-to-day operational performance, working closely with site and corporate teams.

Financial Operations & Execution
- Leads and drives day-to-day financial operations execution across site and corporate functions.
- Ensures timely, accurate, and disciplined financial close and reporting processes.
- Oversees accounting, tax, and treasury with a focus on operational efficiency and reliability.
- Establishes strong financial cadenced aligned with operations.
- Ensures financial data is actionable and directly supports operational decision-making.
ERP (Pronto) Effectiveness & Data Integrity
- Owns and drives the effectiveness, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Pronto ERP system.

- Partners with operations to ensure ERP is fully utilized for:
- Cost tracking
- Production reporting
- Inventory management
- Identifies and implement system and process improvements to enhance reporting speed and quality
- Leads forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes with strong linkage to operational drivers.
- Delivers clear, timely, and actionable FP&A insights to Executive team, operations leadership, and Board of Directors.
- Develops and maintains operationally aligned KPIs.
- Drive a performance management culture through monthly and weekly performance reviews/reporting, variance identification and accountability, and forward-looking risk and opportunity analysis.
Operational Partnership
- Acts as a key finance partner to site operations and general management
- Actively engages with operations teams to understand production drivers and constraints, translate operational activity into financial outcomes, and support cost control and productivity improvements.
- Participates in site reviews, operational meetings, and performance discussions.
- Ensures alignment between financial plans and operational execution.
Cost Control & Project Financial Oversight
- Drives cost discipline across all operations.
- Oversees operating cost management, capital project financial performance, and cash flow and liquidity management.
- Supports evaluation of project economics and capital allocation decisions.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Ensures strong internal controls and financial governance.
- Maintains compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Proactively identifies and mitigates financial risks.
- Ensures audit readiness and effective external reporting.
Leadership & Team Effectiveness
- Leads and develops a high-performing, execution-focused finance team.
- Drives accountability, clarity, and performance standards across the finance team.
- Builds finance capability at site level to support operational decision-making.
- Provides practical, actionable financial insight to the executive team.
Corporate Office Leadership
- In partnership with the Executive Team, supports effective management of corporate (Georgetown) office operations.
- Facilitates strong communication and alignment between corporate teams, site operations and Executive leadership.
Required Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with a professional accounting designation;
- Minimum ten (10) years progressive experience in financial management,
- Knowledge of Guyanese financial regulations and industry standards;
- Knowledge of international accounting, GAP and US accounting methodologies is an asset;
- Experience with ERP Systems (implementation and maintenance);
- Experience in the mining industry an asset;
- Proven track record of strategic financial planning and execution;
- Ability to develop long term financial strategies that align with Company goals;
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly;
- Experience in hiring, leading, and retaining a high performing team;
- Proficient in financial analysis and risk management;
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and Excel. Knowledge of Pronto would be an asset;
