Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the EVP, Sales for a leading third party logistics provider. Major emphasis on developing and executing an aggressive sales growth plan. Will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts. Primary responsibility is to drive new business development & revenue growth through the development of a sector developed strategy. Responsible for leading the consultative, strategic, customer focused selling supply chain solutions products and services in a team environment. Assist team in coordinating complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Challenge is to increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • 10 years of Business Development experience in operational industries or business services in the areas of supply chain, warehousing, distribution, transportation, food/consumer package goods.
  • Excellent operational finance skills (rate development, operating statements, creative financial solutions, budgeting).
  • Proven ability in strategy development, program implementation, team building, mentoring and planning
  • Strong industry experience with specific knowledge of processors, wholesalers, brokers, retailers.
  • Demonstrated ability closing business and organic growth of existing accounts
  • Direct the pricing proposal and contract negotiation approval process. (RFP, RFQ, RFI)
  • Review quarterly plan (revenue targets, margin integrity, “value stream” analysis)
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • CRM: (i.e. Salesforce.com)
  • Residence: Home office
  • Travel: Up to 50%
  • Education: BS or BA degree
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Specific Experience selling (Public and Dedicated Warehousing, Transportation services at the National and Local account level)
  • Education: MBA or advanced degree
Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
  • Good communicator (Verbal & Written)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven tenacity to close business and builds relationships
