VP/Corporate Controller

Carolina PRG has partnered with an Uptown HQ to identify a proven VP/Corporate Controller to compliment their highly respected executive leadership team and to manage a team of 20+ talented accounting professionals.

As the VP/Corporate Controller you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and reporting functions of the company. You will work closely with the C-Suite to ensure the integrity of financial data, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the development of effective accounting strategies. This role will be pivotal in providing accurate financial insights and driving the company's financial growth and stability.

**Salary Range of $200-275K + bonus + equity**

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process and work with department heads to create accurate financial forecasts. Monitor variances and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop accounting strategies that support the company's growth and profitability objectives. Provide financial insights and guidance on key decisions.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets, ensure compliance, and minimize financial risks.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit. Address audit findings and implement necessary improvements.
• Evaluate and implement systems to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance data analytics.
• Lead and mentor a team of 20+ accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA certification required
• Prior Big 4 experience is a plus
• Proven experience as a Corporate Controller
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, technical accounting, and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
