VP of Operations
Job Description
We are seeking a Vice President of Operations to partner closely with ownership and lead day-to-day operational excellence across a growing multifamily portfolio. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for a proven operator who is energized by being in the field, solving problems in real time, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with on-site teams.
This position is 100% in-person, with time split between frequent site visits and the corporate office. It is not a hybrid or remote role. While occasional flexibility is available when needed, this organization values in-person collaboration and has no plans to change that culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary operational partner to ownership, providing regular insight, feedback, and execution support across the portfolio
- Maintain a strong on-site presence by traveling property to property, especially when challenges arise, and working directly with Property Managers to identify issues and drive solutions
- Oversee property operations to ensure performance goals are met across occupancy, NOI, expenses, customer service, and physical asset condition
- Collaborate closely with a strong back-office team (accounting, HR, systems, etc.) to support property teams and ensure operational consistency
- Hold teams accountable while fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment
- Identify operational risks early and take decisive action to resolve them
- Ensure policies, procedures, and best practices are followed while continuously improving operational efficiency
- Act as a steady, resilient leader in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and direct ownership involvement

- Senior multifamily operations leader with experience overseeing several thousand units
- Proven ability to work closely with ownership in a demanding, high-accountability environment
- Highly visible, hands-on leader who prefers being in the field rather than behind a desk
- Confident, resilient, and thick-skinned, with the ability to manage pressure and direct feedback professionally
- Detail-driven, proactive, and consistently “on top of things”
- Strong communicator who builds trust with on-site teams while maintaining high standards
