VP of Operations and Logistics

A large wholesale distributor and manufacture is seeking a Hawaii State Based Vice President of Operations that will be in charge of supervising all activities related to logistics and the warehousing and distribution of mostly non-food products, with some food products. The company is also looking at adding more food and or frozen product lines, so someone with any king of consumer goods logistics background will be right for this position. General areas of responsibility include: receiving, inventory control, picking, packing and trucking. The VP of Operations will oversee a team of 50+ individuals and will report directly to the President of the company. 

The Company is seeking a candidate that has experience managing large teams of people in a blue collar light industrial labor environment. Moreover the company is particularly interested in candidates with the ability to use data and analysis to drive the decision making process.  Information technology is really starting to drive the consumer goods and manufacturing industries.  The company really wants to improve in that area and is looking for someone talented in that area.  They don’t have to be a technical wizard but it would helpful if they have learned to solve logistics and product placement to drive new business.  Someone that is very analytical that can learn on the run would be okay as well.   Someone with consumer goods applications proprietary company software would be good as well.

Minimum Requirements

4-Year undergraduate degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree highly desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent with Microsoft Office suite of tools (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to collect and analyze large amounts of data to drive business decisions
Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment is very important
Candidates may be required to work extended shifts and weekends
