We’re partnering with a leading HVAC, Piping & Plumbing contractor in Williamsburg, VA, in their search for a Vice President of Estimating & Purchasing. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the estimating and purchasing teams, optimizing processes, and driving strategic decisions that support profitable project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of estimators and purchasers, promoting collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed, competitive project estimates and timely specialty purchases.
• Analyze project documents to determine scope, materials, labor, and subcontractor needs.
• Standardize estimating and purchasing tools and processes to improve efficiency.
• Use historical data and market trends to shape bid strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with Preconstruction, Project Management, and Field Operations to ensure smooth project handoffs.
• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors for competitive pricing and quality.
• Maintain a robust cost database and track project performance against estimates.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in construction project management, with strong financial oversight.
• 5+ years in a direct estimating role with leadership responsibilities.
• Skilled in estimating software (e.g., Autobid, Highlands, Quickpen) and Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead teams effectively.
