Position Description

Job Title: Vice President of Engineering

Reports To: Division President/General Manager

Job Summary: The Vice President of Engineering has the opportunity to drive company success by providing a
level of engineering acumen that identifies design opportunities and industry trends which set the client company apart from the
competition. This integral management position will have
oversight responsibility for design and detailing staff at multiple locations. The successful candidate will be a highly
skilled visionary leader with the ability to adapt to and challenge others based on industry advancements. This person
will have a thorough knowledge of the design process, detailing, fabrication requirements, and will communicate with
respect and dignity to all stakeholders in our projects.

Education/Experience: Licensed Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of related experience and a
proven track record leading and managing a department. Thorough knowledge of and hands-on understanding
of engineering principles is required, along with a professional level of competence in order to supervise and
develop others of varying skill/experience levels. This position is expected to provide visionary leadership with
the ability to adapt to and challenge others based on industry advancements. Customer oriented, self-motivated, capable of managing multiple deadlines, highly organized, plus extraordinary communication skill
are essential in this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
* Lead engineering team to develop innovative and breakthrough solutions to design new products and/or
redesign existing products to meet the needs of customers with focus on performance, safety, appearance,
and cost effectiveness.
* Recruitment and retention of highly qualified personnel for all engineering department positions.
* Continued training and development of engineering personnel with work assignments given based the
individual’s specific strengths.
* Review of designs and calculations completed by others.
* Development of the engineering technical data to aid the sales department on the proper application and
performance of products.
* Communicate with sales department and customers to get feedback on product design. Site visits as
necessary to evaluate product performance or to assist in resolution of issues that occur in the field.
* Provide professional guidance for research and development of parts and components used in conjunction
with company products. Review of supplier changes on component parts to assure those changes do not alter
the function of the part in the final product.
* Development of the engineering department budgets and operation of the department within that budget.
* Membership and participation in professional organizations to keep abreast of technological advancements.
* Participate as a professionally respected contributing member to the senior management team.
* Willingness to travel as needed.
* Provide unparalleled personal attention to meeting the needs of our customers.
* Treat all stakeholders with dignity and respect.
* Other duties as assigned.
