Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the SVP of Business Development for an international nuclear services company that is an industry leader in the safe recycling, processing, and disposal of nuclear material from Commercial and Government Generators. They provide a full range of services to ongoing customers as well as Decommissioning & Decontamination services to support & shut down nuclear power plants. They operate both a trucking & rail service that has 80 trucks, 410 trailers, 1800 containers, & 450 rail-cars pieces of equipment that consists of flatbed, curtain-side, step deck, and triple axel trailers.
The VP of Business Development will be responsible for the sales group that focuses on Class 7 hazardous material transportation across the United States & Canada servicing the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and a variety of utility customers. The OTR group operates out of 3 terminals, 80 trucks and various trailer types. The Business Development team consists of 2 Sales representatives serving their individual customers as well as the company’s Market Leads. Their key functions will be identifying, evaluating, and capturing new business opportunities and establishing relationships with potential customers. Manage business development activities for their market segment and capture new business for engineering, field projects, waste treatment, and disposal. They will inform and recommend both new and existing customers of new products and services as they are introduced. Provide ongoing support to high value customers by working alongside the Director of Logistics to identify, response, and capture opportunities to create growth and ensure the highest quality of customer service.

Background Required:
  • Sales and/or Business Development Leadership experience - Hazardous transportation & logistics (7+ Years)
  • Ability to execute / lead sales to multiple levels of decision makers (Executive, Middle and Line Mgmt.)
  • History of growing and scaling market segments
  • Close work with internal operations team
  • History of consistently achieving sales/revenue goals
  • Monthly reporting on sales/revenue goals
  • Management through metric utilization
  • Price bidding, proposals, negotiation, including business development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Travel: up to 50%
  • Residence: Greater Knoxville, TN (relocation assistance)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Class 7 hazardous material knowledge & experience
  • Logistics & Nuclear industry experience
  • Technology (TMW, Omnitracs, & SAP)
