Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO of a premier 3PL that specializes in asset light transportation logistics.
The VP, Sales is accountable for leading the organizations inside and outside Business Development teams including Sales, Commercial Strategy through the development and implementation of the sales strategy and communicating the company’s vision and successfully executing the company’s sales objectives for the Freight Brokerage Division. Will manage up to 4 direct reports and an inside sales teams ultimate performance. Will be responsible for the energetic management, development and signing of profitable new business, additional business, and maintaining current accounts specifically for through supporting outside sales efforts targeting more sophisticated shippers. Tasked with looking for customer synergies and driving enterprise level accounts to the organization. Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Will Coach, Train and mentor sales team in addition to opportunistic personal prospecting to achieve target revenue goals. Challenge is to support the team, expand account base, increase revenues and improve profitability.

Background Required:
  • Successful and stable track record of diversified logistics and transportation selling, negotiating and managing external sales team within Freight Brokerage.
  • Sales Management (5 -10 years)

  • Commercial Responsibility (New business, Contract negotiation, Account Management, C-level Interface)
  • Business planning (annual sales plans, budgeting, financing, forecasting)
  • Pricing and Margin for new business opportunities (RFP/RFQ responses)
  • People processes (Management development, Training, Retention, Performance based leadership)
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to Travel: Up to 50%
  • Education: College Graduate-BA or BS (Marketing, Business or related field)
  • Residence: Tampa, FL (Relocation assistance)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain and creating value for the customer
  • Graduate degree (i.e., Masters, MBA, Logistics)
