Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of a regional courier organization based in the Midwest. Servicing 3 states (Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio). A second-generation company established in 1988, this company takes pride in pushing back on complacency to provide individual care and high levels of customer service. Solutions include on demand, routed service, medical delivery, government work, and warehousing. With 45 associates, 125 independent contractors, $10 million in revenue, and strong reputation in geographic region.
The VP of Operations is responsible for the execution of 3 facilities and the future growth of the business. They will ensure the operational success and evolution of all terminals, the expansion of the business, drive P&L improvements, and cohesion between all departments. They will assist in the overall growth of all verticals. Hold the enterprise accountable to measurable objectives, adjusting when needed to ensure growth of the company. Look for ways to improve overall financials, driver retention, implementation of new services, and enhance customer service. The mission is to increase revenues, optimize costs, and maximize revenues.

Background Required:
  • Final mile transportation (5 yrs)
  • Multi-Site operations management (at least 4 sites)
  • Customer relationships
  • People management (at least 4 direct reports)
  • Third party technology provider relationships
  • Creation and execution of SOPs and KPIs for both internal operations and external customers
  • RFPs
  • Routing, planning & dispatching of routing services
  • Hiring, developing, and continuous training of talent
  • Independent contractor model (negotiations, recruiting, retention)
  • Travel: 50%
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Suite
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years of applicable industry experience
  • Residence: Indianapolis, IN (Relocation assistance provided for right candidate)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • P&L Management ($10 Million)
  • Pharma distribution (middle mile or final mile)
  • Scaling a business to rapid growth
