VP Media in CT

The Vice President is a key organizational leader and member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing the performance and operations of a specific functional business area (department); developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve corporate goals; and managing multiple direct reports at the Account Executive level.

The ideal Vice President is proactive, decisive and inspirational; possesses a strong desire to lead a best-in-class media agency; and is passionate about taking an active role in shaping the future of the agency. This role reports to the President/CEO.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizational Leadership

  • Collaborate with other VPs and senior leaders to create, communicate and implement corporate policies, mission, vision and overall direction
  • Proactively assess company strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and develop strategies to promote organizational growth and evolution
  • Drive new business development by proactively sourcing leads, conducting pitch meetings, forging new relationships and closing new opportunities
  • Provide timely and proactive communication to President/CEO on internal factors such as departmental performance, goal accomplishment and new business ideas/initiatives, as well as external factors such as industry trends, competitive landscape, etc.

Departmental Leadership

  • Oversee all functions of client account management, including media strategy/execution/analysis and client relations, as well as Production division, ensuring that established revenue goals are being met/exceeded
  • Manage a team of Account Executives
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of client business model, metrics, short/long-term goals, competitive landscape, media budgets and campaign timelines across assigned accounts
  • Provide high-level strategic guidance on media plan development, oversee negotiations to achieve best rates, and ensure flawless campaign execution
  • Take complete ownership and accountability for results produced by account team and Production department, ensuring that deadlines are met with high quality work product
  • Ensure that client goals are being met/exceeded and maintain steady pulse on client satisfaction levels, proactively addressing issues as needed
  • Increase client margins and negotiate retainers where possible
  • Grow print production revenues through integration across the business, proactively identifying ways to drive scale and savings to all existing and prospective clients wishing to outsource production services
  • Establish and nurture large-scale vendor/publisher relationships to cultivate new and innovative media opportunities and ensure agency is first-to-market
  • Cross-promote departmental expertise and share collective knowledge across all departments and teams
  • Proactively identify and implement ways to increase efficiencies across teams

People Management

  • Mentor Account Executives in leading their teams, proactively address issues, and maintain steady pulse on staff needs and other relevant team management matters
  • Facilitate training and development of Account Executives on an ongoing basis to promote career growth & mentorship

Additional Responsibilities

  • Continually identify ways to expand Out of Home business
  • Own and manage the relationship with DRTV and radio partners
  • Pursue new media channels, opportunities, and partnerships; share knowledge across teams through ongoing training

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business or marketing concentration preferred);
    MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in a leadership role
  • Expert knowledge in respective business area
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize requests, establish workflow procedures,
    multi-task, meet tight deadlines and deliver on assigned objectives
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Ability to juggle the needs of various stakeholders within an organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Friendly, high-energy, team-focused and can-do attitude a must!
