VP, Market Development Services + Product
About the Role
We are partnering with a well-established, values-driven consulting and analytics firm to identify a visionary VP of Growth & Market Development. This newly created executive role is designed to shape and accelerate firmwide expansion—both in its longstanding public-sector work and in new, untapped arenas including private sector partnerships and tech-driven offerings.
This is not a typical business development position. It is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and organizational alignment. You’ll work across the enterprise—from practice leaders and technical experts to C-suite executives—to modernize growth systems, identify scalable opportunities, and operationalize market development.
What Makes This Role Unique
-
You’re not inheriting a playbook—you’re building it. This firm has strong brand equity in its core space, but new market entry and productization are greenfield opportunities. You’ll have the latitude to architect the next era of growth.
-
You’ll drive both public and private sector strategy. You’ll expand the firm’s footprint with government clients while simultaneously piloting and scaling private market approaches—an ideal mix for someone with experience in both arenas.
-
You’ll champion product-market fit for internal tools and technology. From survey platforms to behavioral modeling tools, the firm has productized IP ready for broader commercial adoption. You’ll own the go-to-market strategy.
Ideal Candidate
This role is suited to someone with a consulting mindset and a commercial operator’s drive. You’ve probably led business development or go-to-market efforts at a mission-oriented consulting firm, a high-integrity technology company, or a transportation- or infrastructure-adjacent organization.
You’re energized by strategic complexity but also enjoy building internal systems, coaching teams, and getting results. You balance the patience required for long-cycle public sector engagements with the agility needed in faster-paced markets.
