Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CEO of a leading, asset-based, full-service 3PL specializing in multimodal services.
This VP, Logistics is responsible for the continued development and implementation of a major non-asset freight brokerage business for the organization. Develops a plan for profitable growth, performs profit forecasting and budgeting. Work in coordination with other company business units, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the unit, establish management processes and metrics for performance and be accountable for financial and growth performance of the freight brokerage. Supervises process improvement internally and in the company’s arrangements with its customers, carriers, and channel marketing partners. Directs negotiation with customers and carrier partners including yearly agreements, customer specific pricing and operations improvements. Completes necessary planning activities for both short term and long-term goals of the business including budgetary planning, analysis, and review. Considers Branch expansion opportunities in support of achieving top and bottom-line goals. Challenge is to build world-class team, develop high-level service offering, motivating and leading staff while optimizing costs, increasing revenues, and improving profitability.

Background Required:
- Progressive Executive Leadership within Freight Brokerage (8+ years)
- Team management and division oversight (4+ years)
- Strong background in customer value creation
- P & L experience (Gross Margin, Revenue, OE, ROI, Daily Dashboard)
- Business planning (budget, forecasting)
- Proven ability in strategy development, program implementation, team building, mentoring, and planning
- Demonstrated ability closing and managing large account business and organic growth of existing accounts
- Direct the pricing proposal and contract negotiation approval process. (RFI, RFQ, RFP)
- Review quarterly plan (revenue targets, margin integrity, “value stream” analysis)
- Driven technology and process improvement within organization (McLeod)
- Strategic marketing knowledge
- Proficient in CRM (i.e., Salesforce. Business Analytics Software)
- Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
- Travel: 25%
