Job Title: Financial Group Controller

The Company was founded in January 2024 to partner with and drive growth in the lawn management and pest across the United States. The Company currently has several deals under LOI and substantial committed capital to grow over the next several years. The company creates value by partnering with established local companies, allowing owner-operators to operate independently while providing resources and assistance to grow revenue and increase profitability. The Company is owned by ABC Partners, an investment vehicle that manages over $500mm in assets, founded by partners with a strong track record building platforms in various industries.

Position Summary

The Financial Group Controller will be a critical leader with overall ownership for building a highly scalable multi entity accounting organization. This individual will be a key partner to the senior leadership team and will implement best practices across the platform to ensure integrity within the financial metrics.

Key Deliverables

• Monthly close package deliverables prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and The Company’s accounting guidelines
• Best-in-class customer service
• Annual Audit
• Adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controls
• Lead and develop best in class team to provide support services to local partner companies which may include centralized accounting operations, systems admin etc.

Position Responsibilities

• Drive the month-end and year-end close processes ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in delivered financials with account reconciliations and journal entry support
• Ensure all entities are in compliance with The Company’s accounting guidelines and U.S. GAAP
• Review financial statements to identify trends and potential accounting issues
• Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting for top tier entities
• Ensure all technical accounting issues are considered and addressed appropriately
• Develop accounting processes /best practices for partner companies
• Develop, fine tune and implement robust month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure local partner accounting teams are adequately supported to ensure financial reporting is accurate
• Coordinate annual audit to ensure clean opinion
• Manage, train and mentor team members
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Minimum

• Prior role with responsibilities commensurate of that of a controller or above
• Bachelor's in Accounting / Finance or related discipline
• Public accounting experience (strongly preferred)
• Active CPA license
• 7-10 years of experience, ability to lead teams
• Full cycle accounting, strong knowledge of GAAP
• Ability to thrive in fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Works independently and is a proactive problem solver
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus, attention to detail and leadership ability
• Ability to interface at various levels within the organization
• Strong ability to communicate accounting and financial information using common language
• Strong time management
• Excellent organization skills
• Proven track record of being a trusted business partner to operations and executives

• Experience preparing financial statements

• Prior experience with acquisition / integration
• ERP system implementation experience
• Experience with leading ERP systems
