Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Transformation & Digital Officer for one of the world's leading providers of integrated logistics services. Our client offers air, ocean and road freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, and specialized services in project logistics, fairs and events, and chemicals.
The VP Data Architecture & Governance is responsible for designing the use of data as a corporate asset. The VP will develop a medium & long-term data roadmap and operational framework to meet enterprise and regulatory priorities. Will design, oversee and align data structures for data governance systems, align data structures in legacy systems and oversee APIs for alignment with business needs. This role drives innovation through data and analytics and the promotion of an enterprise-wide data-driven work culture. The VP of Data Architecture supports the Chief Digital Officer in developing a long-term data strategy aligned with business priorities and supports the building of organizational structures and skills to support this strategy

Background Required:
  • Strong knowledge of Master Data Maintenance models & technical data architecture
  • Managing enterprise data strategy and multiyear roadmaps (10 years)
  • Data analytics, data mining, and data governance (10 years)
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams (15 years)
  • Ability to coordinate, allocate, and manage resources and projects throughout multiple teams
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the fields of data management and analytics
  • Information management & quantitative skills (working knowledge of IT infrastructure & enterprise-specific vendor solutions)
  • Industry-specific knowledge of data security protocols, policies, and regulations.
  • Experience with .Net
  • Knowledge of databases (i.e. DB2, MS SQL, Oracle, Hadoop)
  • Education: BA or BS Degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science or related field)
  • Residence: Basel, Switzerland
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • International freight forwarding
  • Education: Master’s degree
