Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Unit 2 Operator.

Essential Responsibilities
- Issuing of materials to the shop floor as and when required in line with company policy
- Basic stock management including the movement and handling of stock and materials to required locations
- Data input and maintaining accurate computer and manual records
- Responding to system generated messages taking the appropriate action where required
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records of materials and stock control via SAP as and when required
- Responsible for receiving deliveries including checking for damage, quality standards and specifications before stamping and endorsing the driver’s delivery paperwork
- Checking the accuracy of incoming / outgoing certificates of conformity and liaising with the appropriate departments in the case of discrepancies
- Archiving of aviation records in line with company requirements
- Benching / Fettling of components including the removal of sharp edges and cleaning of holes using orbital sanders and hand de-burring equipment to achieve ‘as drawn’ features and SOP requirements
- To part mark or ident products as per specifications / instructions provided
- To carry out aircraft sub-assemblies accurately and in accordance with required process timings and to customer specifications, ensuring compliance with Quality standards
- To communicate efficiently and effectively with the supervisor and manager at all times ensuring issues relating to deliveries, stock and quality are raised in a timely manner
- Maintain good housekeeping in work area
- Work in a safe manner complying with all risk assessments and procedures in line with company Health and Safety policy, reporting any Health and Safety incidents that occur
- Any other reasonable duties required by management in support of the business
Position Requirements
Academic:
- Basic level of education
Experience:
- Working experience within a stores/warehouse environment
- Working knowledge of a SAP or similar operating system
- Working knowledge of specifications, SOP’s and Work Instructions
- Experience in aircraft assembly processes ( preferable but not essential)
- Experience in fettling/benching ( preferable but not essential)
