Location: Puerto Rico
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hrs (8-5,8.5-5.5,9-6) 1hr lunch 40hr per week
GRC Executive is conducting a search on behalf of a well-established insurance company in Puerto Rico. We are seeking a Underwriter to join a professional team known for its strong culture, excellent work environment, and long-standing client relationships.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay: starting at $16/hour
- Employer-sponsored health insurance $180 p/month
- Paid parking
- PTO 15/12
- 9 month probation *negotiable
- Stable, full-time schedule (no weekends)

Position Overview:
The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting personal insurance policies, ensuring that all risks are properly assessed and aligned with company guidelines. This role is key to maintaining a high-quality portfolio while delivering excellent service to both agents and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and underwrite personal lines insurance applications (auto, home, and related coverages)
- Evaluate risk exposure and determine appropriate coverage, pricing, and underwriting terms
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and effectively to agents and clients
- Provide guidance to agents on coverage options and underwriting requirements
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant
- Manage renewals, endorsements, and policy updates
- Ensure compliance with company standards and Puerto Rico insurance regulations
- Support client retention through strong service and relationship management
Qualifications:
- Experience in underwriting or insurance preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to work in a collaborative environment
