In this role, the individual will be responsible for working closely with TxDOT to oversee existing company contracts and form new connections within TxDOT. In addition, the person will be responsible for hiring and mentoring of staff, local operations and expanding the current client base. This role will be integral to a growing practice around these well-established relationships and projects. The resources of the firm provide an unparalleled opportunity to establish new service offerings and markets within Texas.
Collins has a strong backlog of TxDOT projects including several multi-year contracts with districts throughout the state. The team of employees running the projects bring decades of experience stemming from a tradition of innovation to support the unique needs of a diverse set of clients. In 1979, Collins Engineers opened its doors in Chicago providing engineering services in structural and transportation analysis and design, and underwater engineering. It was in the field of underwater engineering that Collins pioneered the use of professional engineers as diving inspectors in the evaluation of underwater structures. Today, Collins is an ENR Top 500 Design Firm with offices throughout the US providing civil, structural, transportation, construction, water resources, and underwater engineering services to various public and private sector clients.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, structural engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 15+ years of experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Prior experience working closely with DOTs. While TxDOT experience is preferred, candidates with DOT experience from any state will be considered.
• Individual can have technical background in structural bridge design, bridge inspection, transportation, construction, planning or related technical discipline.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to help expand the Texas market.
