Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive estate planning and wealth transfer advice to high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Prepare and draft sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, various types of trusts, and business succession plans.
  • Offer counsel on intricate estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues.
  • Assist with all aspects of estate and trust administration, including probate proceedings and tax compliance.
  • Process and critically review Federal gift and estate tax returns.
  • Collaborate with legal team members to develop innovative, tailored solutions for estate planning.
  • Engage in the structuring of charitable giving strategies and advise tax-exempt entities on compliance and planning matters.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school with a standout academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in Texas, or the ability to gain admission promptly upon hiring.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax planning.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in drafting complex estate plan documents and handling sophisticated wealth management issues.
  • Thorough understanding of income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax laws and strategies.
  • Ability to manage probate proceedings from small to large taxable and non-taxable estates.
  • Competence in preparing and reviewing federal gift and estate tax returns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A graduate degree in Taxation, LLM preferred, but not required.
  • Proven experience advising high-profile clients in legal matters concerning substantial financial assets.
