We are seeking an experienced Trust Officer to join our partner’s growing team in Brookfield, WI. In this senior-level role, you will administer a wide range of complex personal trust accounts and foster strong relationships with clients and their professional advisors in an independent, privately-held trust company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent the organization with professionalism and confidentiality, and build strong partnerships with professional advisors.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned trust relationships, engaging directly with clients and their advisors.
  • Apply knowledge of estate planning strategies and trust administration, including trust accounting, fiduciary income tax, and prudent investor rules.
  • Administer trusts in accordance with governing instruments, state laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze trust documents, review investment advisor agreements, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain trust records, facilitate distributions to beneficiaries, and coordinate with investment advisors and tax preparers.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including trust operations, for efficient service delivery.
  • Assess new business opportunities by gathering and reviewing trust asset information and evaluating administration requirements and risks.
  • Participate in company-wide projects and committees as assigned.
  • Identify and encourage opportunities to develop new trust relationships with clients and professional advisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 5 years + experience in personal trust account administration.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a professional team.
  • Legal education or Juris Doctorate is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRMs, trust accounting systems, and electronic filing systems.
  • Strong attention to administrative details, documentation, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex concepts and maintaining consistent follow-up with clients and partners.
  • Self-starter with high motivation and minimal need for supervision.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, assertiveness, and ownership.
